HARPENDEN CARNIVAL PROCESSION 22nd MAY 2011
HARPENDEN CARNIVAL PROCESSION 22nd MAY 2011
Please let me know if you can attend!!!!!! We will have a tent and matts this time to do this and we will do a demo
Weather permitting!!!
Ech year the members of Harpenden Round Table organise the annual town carnival. This is one of the biggest events in the town’s calendar and raises many thousands of pounds for charity. The opening ceremony for the carnival has, for many years, been a procession through the town and the members of Harpenden Village Rotary Club are delighted to be assisting Round Table by organising this procession on their behalf.
The theme for this year’s procession will be ‘Carnival’ and we are encouraging both walking entrants and vehicles used as floats.
To encourage participation, we will again be offering up to £100 in expenses against receipts (to be submitted by the end of June) we would be very grateful if you could enter without necessarily calling on this resource. Last year’s procession was a splendid display of colour, fun and entertainment and we were blessed with fine weather! With your help this year we hope to do even better. To further encourage entry, cash prizes will be awarded for the best floats.
Harpenden Carnival attracts over 7,000 attendees and we believe that it is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of, and funds for, your organisation as well as supporting us in our fundraising efforts. Therefore please do enter and return the booking form as soon as possible to ensure your participation. We hope you will be able to join us.
Yours sincerely
Debbie Harvey
Procession Co-ordinator
