End of year awards 2009 and Seminar with Grand Master

We have two GREAT bits of NEWS

Number 1

The End of year awards will be held on Saturday 20^TH March 2010 at 4.00pm – 5.30pm.  This is FREE for everyone at the club to attend including your family, Held at - 

Putteridge Recreation Centre, Putteridge Road, Luton, LU2 8HJ

These are the awards open to all students

Male Adult Student of the Year

Female Junior Student of the Year

Male Junior Student of the Year

Club Student of the Year 

Most Improved Student of the Year

Most Impressive Student of the Year 

Best Attended Student of the Year

Best Competitor Student of the Year

We have added few new awards this year they are, Female Junior Student of the Year, Female Adult Student of the Year, Male Adult Student of the Year, Male Junior Student of the Year and Club Student of the Year 

Grand Master will be giving out the award that evening!   

Number 2

Grand Master Dave, will be holding a two hours seminar before the awards teaching so many different things. This would be a great way to get to meet and train with him.

If you wish to attend this seminar there is a cost £5.00 per students,

Gradings

I would like to wish everyone at Kaisho Ryu Martial Arts ( Ju-Jitsu ) good luck for their gradings over the next few weeks. There will be a few surprise over the coming weeks for some students on the gradings.

KJR Harpenden – Ladies Self Defence Course

The teaching is relaxed and fun but with a goal to giving you practical advice and techniques. The course will involve some light activity to demonstrate techniques.  Our team has also taught a number of Police Forces.

Chief Instructor Rolo

At Kaisho Ryu we are both proud and inspired to have ‘Rolo’ as our chief instructor and technical director. He has been training in combat martial arts for over 45 years and has a wealth of knowledge and experience.

He started with Wado Ryu and then in the late sixties he was introduced to (the late great Mori Warrior) Gary Spiers and started training in Okinawan Goju Ryu later to be applied karate. He became one of Gary’s senior instructors and a very close personal friend of the great man

He has also trained in other disciplines and successfully produced 5 national and international World Kick Boxing champions under the world kickboxing association (W.K.A) banner. He is also an experienced judged and referee

For many years he ran his own clubs producing students (including myself) that now have their own schools and systems. He has recently in conjunction with two former S.A.S. special forces members set up a combat training camp and martial arts gym in Asia he has also been involved in training members of the Police Forces in close range combat.

He also found that his close range combat skills both mentally and physically paid dividends in controlling various situations he had to manage, for various venues using practical applications in real life situations to maintain the peace as and when necessary.
